Minerva Technology Inc. [MT] is a Victoria based research and development company specialising in high-end embedded systems for scientific and industrial applications. The company has two full time staff and two part-time technicians.
Ongoing Projects
The MT01 Low Power Data Logger
MT designed and manufactures the MT01 low power data logger which has been deployed worldwide as part of the Flux Gate Magnetometers units produced by Narod Geophysics Ltd. in Vancouver, BC. The MT01 is also deployed in a sea-bottom observatory as part of the CORK project undertaken by the Pacific Geoscience Centre.
The MT02 Internet-Enabled Low Power Linux Computer
The MT02 is low power Linux based computer designed for internet enabled data acquisition. The system features a build in uninterruptable battery backed power supply and independent supervisor/watchdog to ensure the unit can intelligently detect and respond to hostile deployment conditions.
Institution and Staff
MT employs two full time staff, David Miles and Jonathan Schmidt, and two part-time technicians.
David Miles is the founder and President of Minerva Technology Inc. He provides administrative control for the company and acts as Project Manager for work undertaken. He also specialises in power supply design, microcontroller systems and low-level embedded software.
Jonathan Schmidt specialises in computer architecture design, system integration and peripheral interface. He provides software support in ares such as Linux operating system modification and porting, device drivers and bootloaders.

MT developed a custom datalogger and control interface based on the MT01 for use with Narod Geophysics Flux Gate Magnetometer systems.
